Day 2
Day 2
We start climbing out of our great camp site
At the rim on the canyon; Cone Peak is in view
Close up, it does not look easier
We reach the knoll overlooking the Pacific
My backpack takes a rest while I taking pictures
3 trails, we take the far left
MOVIE: 1/2 mile before Goat Camp
Another crossing
I made it across
Last crossing on Day 2
Goat Camp
Not much here; but at least its flat
The trail to the top of the ridge...
…is switchbacks on top of switchbacks
Top of this ridge, and I am one tired puppy
We now start the Gamboa trail
This is a great trail with a few level spots
There are a lot of fallen trees
Finally we make the Trail Camp, only 1.5 vary steep miles to base of Cone Peak
The base of Cone Peak, only 1/4 mile & 400 feet elevation to top
This is a rough area
This trail to the top is rough
I love this tree
Finally; - the top
This is the best spot I could find to pitch my tent
Pitch tent
My tent held down by rocks
Dave’s high-tech tent, also with rocks
The wind is picking up
Sunset
Day 2 track, over 9 hr of climbing
